Veer off the well-worn midtown Second Saturday path this Saturday by checking out Pinky’s Salon located at 5379 H St., in East Sacramento. Sacramento native Javier Perez, a California College of the Arts graduate who now resides in the Bay Area—will be the showcase artist. Javier’s sister, Susana, works at the salon, which is owned by Blanca Jacobo, Barbara Lee and Brian Lawrence. Javier’s media include sculpture, photography and jewelry, and he’ll have some from each on hand including “Distracted,” shown above. Enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres and music by Mercy Me! at the reception, which runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. But get there early; we heard through the grapevine that items from previous shows have gone fast.
