Saturday’s “Flea” Market Supports Shelter Animals

If you love animals (what’s not to love?) and love a bargain (yes!), don’t miss the “flea” market this Saturday at the Sacramento County Animal Shelter to benefit the resident animals. The Bradshaw Road shelter, which takes in 15,000 homeless, abused and unwanted pets a year, has weathered severe staffing cuts and is trying to stay afloat in the face of severe budget cuts. Yet the needs of the animals remain. So here’s your chance to make a difference in the lives of furry friends—and find some great deals, too. For sale: new and gently used furniture and household goods, clothes, toys, garden items, pet products and electronics, plus crafts. There’s even a bake sale. You also can donate to the sale by dropping off items at the shelter after 4 p.m. today.
