Sacramento is a rich repository of art, history, culture and knowledge. One just needs to look into any of our many museums to find a wealth of information, entertainment and insight into the world around us. While it’s easy to pay these beautiful museums no mind when caught up in the chaos of day-to-day life, it’s worth taking time out to reconnect with any (or many) of the museums that make our home a great place to live every now and then. Once a year, the community rallies together to bring our attention back to all these museums. On Saturday, Feb. 1, 30 museums are celebrating Sacramento Museum Day by inviting everyone to enjoy free or half price admission. With admissions fully waved at 28 of the 30, there’s no excuse not to take the opportunity to explore, learn and grow. Better yet, many of the museums are within walking distance from each other. Among the participating museums are the Aerospace Museum of California, the California Automobile Museum, the Governor’s Mansion, the Crocker Art Museum and Sutter’s Fort. Only Fairytale Town and Sacramento Zoo are requiring half-price admission, which even then is still a great deal. Enrich yourself with this rare opportunity to enjoy Sacramento’s cultural wealth with Sacramento Museum Day. For more information, see here.
