Sacramento may be a big city now, but it is still a cow town at heart. Just look at the entertainment and events lined up for the Sacramento County Fair, running from May 22 to May 26. They’ve got pig races, tractor pulls, a demolition derby, a junior livestock auction, bull riding, and Gran Jaripeo (a Mexican rodeo and fiesta). Talk about cow town! Apparently, given the chance, Sacramentans love to embrace their country side. And can you blame them? The County Fair gives us all a chance to celebrate the simpler things in life, be it eating a fresh, hot funnel cake or holding hands with a loved one at the top of a Ferris Wheel. And it’s not limited to that. Catch one of the many performances from hypnotists, magicians, clowns, cooking show hosts and live bands in between trips to the carnival or petting zoo. The fair is a chance for everyone to kick loose and embrace all things Americana. For more information, see here.
