Chocoholics, you might want to take a seat, because I’ve got big news. Ready? The Sacramento Chocolate Salon is back for a second year, giving local sweet-tooths another crack at the finest gourmet, artisan and premium chocolates and candies the region has to offer. This year, the Salon has hopped from the Citizen Hotel to the Embassy Suites in Old Sacramento, allowing for an even bigger and more decadent event. Chocolate lovers and connoisseurs will get to sample their way through some of the finest chocolates, truffles, cookies, brownies and confections around while also enjoying perfectly paired wine tastings from nearby vineyards. This year’s salon features 20 different vendors, including Amano Artisan Chocolate, Amella Caramels, Oscura Chocolate, Feve Artisan Chocolatier, The Tea Room Chocolate Company, Quail Point Chocolate, 24K Chocolate Cafe at Ancient Future, Marich Confectionery, Fera’wyn’s Artisan Chocolates, CocoTutti, Rosa d’Oro Vineyards and more. After taking time to sample the wares, guests can make a few purchases of the chocolates that truly set their hearts aflutter. Art Pollard of Amano Chocolate, Liv Turner of Oscura Chocolate, Teresa Flint of Ancient Future, and local food and lifestyle author Joey Garcia will giving presentations and demos throughout the daylong event. Because of its popularity last year, this event has a limited number of tickets. Purchase yours in advance in order to guarantee you get a crack at this year’s best chocolates.
