Yes, that’s a banana in your pocket—the 5th Annual Sacramento Banana Festival is coming to William Land Park on Aug. 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The two-day, family-friendly festival will feature delicious banana cuisine (including a banana split eating contest—wear your big pants), educational exhibits about banana use around the world, dancing, live entertainment including a fashion show and Miss Banana Queen contest, rides for kids and youth art exhibits that are sure to “a-peel” to all ages.
General admission (only $5) and proceeds from the festival benefit several local charities, including the Fenix Drum and Dance Company, Sol Collective and the National Academic Youth Corps—which provides art and educational programs for more than 15,000 local kids and adults in the Sacramento area—and many more.
