Rocker Todd Rundgren Comes to Town

Todd Rundgren—“Hello, It’s Me,” “Can We Still Be Friends” and, of course, “Bang on the Drum All Day”—is coming to Sacramento for a couple of shows. Rundgren is playing Tuesday at Tex Wasabi (2243 Arden Way; 916-927-8399). The show starts at 8 p.m. and it’s free. But get there early; if the restaurant reaches capacity, management will need to turn people away. I mention this because Rundgren’s Pearl on the River concert, scheduled for tonight, did sell out.
Then, on Wednesday Rundgren will perform at Strikes in Rocklin (5681 Lonetree Blvd.; 916-632-8200). The cover is $10 for this show. Tickets were still available at the time of this posting, but if you want to secure tickets, call Kerry at (916) 580-6580.
Why all the performances? Rundgren is in town at Track Shack Studios recording his new album, (re)Production, which will consist of songs Rundgren’s produced for other artists throughout his career. Some of the artists he’s worked with include Grand Funk Railroad and the Psychedelic Furs.
