Sacramento-based online retailer Retail Therapy joins forces with wearable art designer I Dream of Johnny to raise money for Tubman House, a nonprofit organization serving young homeless parents and their children, Feb. 27 at Art Beast Children’s Studio in Sacramento. The event, the brainchild of Retail Therapy owner Amina Cordano, will feature an art party for children—think paints, colored pens and a large canvas wall—with I Dream of Johnny’s Johnny Murphy “showing them how to turn their artwork into a piece of clothing,” says organizer Jenny Lemos-Davison. Time slots: 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. While there, tour the play spaces at Art Beast, attend an Art Beast class or join a T-shirt design workshop. Retail Therapy, an online retailer and “personal styling concierge” that brings clothes to busy clients, will have clothes on display, including a preview of new designers, and will be offering discounts for attendees. All participants will be entered to win a T-shirt or wristband designed by I Dream of Johnny as well as other gifts and raffle prizes. Cost to attend: $15, with a $30 max for families, $5 for Art Beast members. To purchase tickets here or call (916) 529-3471.
