If your definition of “drought” has more to do with a paucity of quality music than a lack of water, “Rain” is coming to the rescue. This Beatles tribute, which comes to the Sacramento Community Center Theater March 17-March 22, offers more than a downpour of classic songs recaptured with remarkable accuracy by top-notch musicians wearing mop-top wigs. It’s a full-out multi-media extravaganza, with giant video screens offering historical footage to trace the Fab Four’s rise to fame, from their early “Ed Sullivan” appearances through their “psychedelic” period, and beyond. If you love the Beatles—and, really, who doesn’t?—this show may be the next best thing to the real deal, and a great excuse to twist and shout the night away.
