Pretty up your party clothes and warm up your wallet for the annual Sofia Soirée fundraiser show and afterparty at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Midtown performing arts venue (2700 Capitol Ave.)
You can attend both the show and afterparty for $150, or wait until the party starts at 9 p.m. and pay half that ($75). Tickets are available online.
“The third annual Sofia Soirée will be a unique fundraising occasion that supports B Street Theatre’s objective to further cultural enrichment, social interaction, education and literacy via the shared experience of live and virtual theater and the performing arts,” B Street says in promoting the event. “You’ll be inspired to change the lives of students and theatregoers in Sacramento and around the nation after attending this premier event.
“Emceed by Murrow and Emmy award-winning journalist and CapRadio’s Insight host Vicki Gonzalez, the elegant evening will kick off with a stunning, intimate dinner followed by special a one-time-only performance by the B Street Theatre’s Acting Company and other special guests!
“The show will also feature a performance by Sacramento Contemporary Dance Theatre, music by Justin Farren, and a special presentation from B Street’s Director of Outreach & Education Greg Alexander that will highlight the many ways that the non-profit fulfills its mission of cultural enrichment through the performing arts in the Sacramento region.”
Following the show, an open bar will help keep the crowd entertained until far into the festive evening.
