‘Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art’

2566

Explore the important influence that Latin American artists have had on the artistic world at the new Crocker Art Museum exhibition “Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art,” on display from Sept. 21 through Jan. 11.

The exhibit features nearly 100 pieces pulled from the Smithsonian American Art Museum collections by Latino artists active from the mid-20th century to contemporary times. The Crocker’s expertly built exhibition will highlight the movements that inspired these artists and how they each approached issues of expansionism, migration, settlement and shifting cultural traditions through their arresting artwork.
