Post Serial&emdash;Sacramento poet laureate Julia Connor’s Think Postcard!&emdash;a series of public workshops at which you can turn postcards into art pieces&emdash;runs through June, says Anja Aulenbacher, grants and cultural programs assistant for the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. (Yep, long name, long title, she mock-sighs.) Here’s how it works: One person writes words on one side of a postcard and another responds with an image&emdash;or vice versa. The card then gets mailed to SMAC’s offices. The last step involves our third collaborator, the U.S. Post Office, says Aulenbacher. (Uh-oh, says the columnist.) The top cards will be in a gallery show this fall. To find out more about the program, check out sacculture.com.
