This Sunday, Jackie Greene is coming back home to perform—at none other than Fairytale Town. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. concert performed on the Mother Goose Stage.
After graduating from high school in El Dorado Hills, Greene moved to Sacramento and began performing regularly at open mic nights. The owner of DIG Music, a local label, noticed Greene at an open mic night in 2001 and signed him as the label’s first artist. In 2002, Greene’s first album, Gone Wanderin’, was released—and in 2003 it won the California Music Award for the Best Blues/Roots Album. The following year, Greene released Sweet Somewhere Bound and began receiving radio play for singles like “Honey I Been Thinking About You.” In case you’re curious, my favorite Greene song is “Closer to You” off his 2006 album, American Myth. And I hope he plays it on Sunday!
Food and beverages will be available for purchase; adult beverages will also be available for purchase with valid ID. Tickets are $35, and all proceeds benefit nonprofit Fairytale Town.
