An American Christmas classic is finding all new life this winter in Sacramento Theatre Company’s production of It’s a Wonderful Life the Musical. Based on the 1946 Frank Capra film starring James Stewart, this musical tells the story of a middle-aged man who has set his dreams aside in order to devote himself to the welfare of his family and town. Even so, his good deeds are not enough to keep him from despairing one winter night. On the brink of suicide, he is visited by an angel with a different vision for him.
Despite the sometimes difficult subject matter, this production is appropriate for audiences of all ages, and makes for a heartwarming family outing. The beauty of the music and the sweetness and humor of the story have delighted audiences around the country.
