Watching good improv actors is fun. Watching good improv actors who are sleep deprived should be hilarious. You can do so this weekend at the 3rd Annual Improv-A-Thon at ComedySportz tonight through Saturday at 10:30 p.m. That translates into 50 hours of straight, continuous improv! Saturday’s 8 p.m. show should be especially funny because it will pit a well-rested improv team against a sleep-deprived (awake for more than 30 hours!) team.
If getting some laughs isn’t motivation enough, it may help to know that 50 percent of ticket proceeds will go to the nonprofit Christmas Promise. That’s right, you get to have fun and you’ll be helping some 250 needy families in the area have a nice Christmas. What a way to start the season.
Tickets range from $5 to $50 for an all-event pass. And if you attend some middle-of-the-night shows, you can watch for free. Click here for tickets and a schedule. ComedySports is located at 2230 Arden Way, next to Arby’s.
