Technically speaking, the last day of summer is Sept. 23, but if we’re being honest, the mood of summer really ends at the end of August when everybody is back to being busy and people are no longer in vacation mode.
However, the people at Unseen Heroes don’t like this idea. They, like the rest of the people living in Sacramento, have noticed something: We have summer weather until October. Which is why, every second Thursday from July to October, they put on a community event “inspired by the warm California nights.”
Presented by Unseen Heroes and the Oak Park Business Association, GATHER: Oak Park is a celebration of the food, beer and culture of one of Sacramento’s oldest neighborhoods. The event features communal tables for outdoor eating, a craft beer area, artisanal food vendors, art and live music. It’s also free.
The next event is Aug. 13 and features live music from DJ Rated R and Conjunto Liberacion, children’s activities by Sol Collective and a craft beer area by Beers in Sac. Food from Fuzion Eatz, Mama Kim Cooks, South, Passione Pizza and several other local eateries will be available for purchase.
GATHER: Oak Park is located on Broadway and 3rd Avenue from 5 p.m. through 9 p.m.
