This show is flaming hot. The fourth annual Fire Spectacular, “Dancing to the Sacred Wind Song,” takes place Saturday at 7 p.m. Under a full moon, the event, at Land Park’s William A. Carroll Amphitheatre, features fire troupe Obsidian Butterfly and guests spinning fiery props in a variety of movement styles set to music to create a primal yet strangely elegant exploration of myth and fantasy. The show honors our ancestors who used the element of fire in dances and rituals, such as the Native Americans and Maori of New Zealand, and the firewalkers of India, Hawaii and Bulgaria.
Buy tickets, which range in price from $8 to $25, here or at the door. Note: Vendors and live workshops start at 3 p.m.
