Drink Radio

2004

Beer lovers may have noticed that Oak Park Brewing Company’s October opening date came and went without the brewery doors ever budging. While the guys behind the whole operation promise an official opening very, very soon, if you want to guarantee yourself a crack at one of their brews, consider RSVPing for Drink Radio. Hosted by Capital Public Radio, Drink Radio is a beer night that celebrates the release of both the exclusive CapRadio brew and pint glass. Earlier this fall, Cap Radio asked their listeners and local artists to submit art for a special pint glass, with the winner taking $500. Artists were asked to let their designs be influences by the concepts of “harvest,” “zest” or “sustain.” It doesn’t get more “Sacramento” than this, really—even our vessels for alcohol are farm-to-fork themed. While the winning pint glass will be on sale at Drink Radio for $10 (which includes a pour of CapRadio brew), other top submissions will also be on display. Organizers for the evening are looking to bring everyone together to celebrate local business, local artists, local produce, and the creative possibilities of our community.
