Donate a Coat, Warm Your Heart

There’s still time to donate to one of my favorite seasonal charities: Coats for Kids. You have through Thursday, Dec. 9 to donate a coat—new or gently used—at area Swansons Cleaners, Tri Counties Bank branches, UPS Stores, the News10 studios and other locations. Check for a list of drop-off points. All sizes are accepted and it’s a win-win: you clean out your closet and you in turn help someone stay warm this winter.
You don’t have a coat to donate? I’ve found great kids’ coats to donate at area Ross and Marshalls the past several years for less than $30. (And I bet you can find them for less than that.)
Or, if you prefer, you can send a monetary donation, with checks made out to “Coat for Kids.” Mail checks to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 340699, Sacramento, CA  95834 or drop it (or cash) off at any Tri Counties Bank location.
For information, call the coat hotline at (916) 321-3362.
