Crockett-Deane Ballet’s ‘Nutcracker Suite’ and ‘Christmas Angels’

There are many reasons to see the Crockett-Deane Ballet’s production of Nutcracker Suite. Here are a few:

• Linda Yun will dance the role of Sugar Plum Fairy. Yun is a former member of the Crockett-Deane Ballet who now teaches at Deane Dance Center. She rarely has time to don pointe shoes for an audience, but when she does, her fluid style casts a magical spell.

• Jeanne Jacobson, Sacramento Ballet alum and assistant director of the E:Motion Dance Ensemble, will make a special appearance. She was the spunkiest Sac Ballet Nutcracker “candy cane” ever, and now she’ll sweeten the stage as “Spanish chocolate.”

• From the young dancers crossing the stage for the first time to the accomplished pre-professionals, the Crockett-Deane Ballet and Deane Dance Center performers make the season bright with the joy of dance.
