It’s time to tie one on. A bib, that is. (What were you thinking?) Crab feed season is upon us. Here’s info about a few of them:
Feb: 5: Kiwanis Club of East Sacramento-Midtown’s Fourth Annual Crab Feed, at 6 p.m., Dante Club, 2330 Fair Oaks Blvd. Tickets $46, $430 table for 10. Call (916) 215-1460.
Feb. 6: Junior League of Sacramento’s Fifth Annual Denim & Diamonds Crab Feed at 5 p.m., St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1333 58th St. Tickets $45 in advance, $50 at the door.
Feb. 20: Crockett-Deane Ballet’s Second Annual “All You Can Eat” Crab Feed at 6 p.m., Sacramento Turn Verein, 3349 J St. Tickets $50, $360 table for eight.
Feb 27: Sacramento Jeepers 19th Annual Crab Feed at 6 p.m., Placer County Fairgrounds, 800 All America City Blvd., Roseville. Tickets $35.
March 14: Elk Grove Police Department Annual Crab Feed, 5:30 p.m., SES Hall, 10427 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove. Tickets $40 in advance, $45 at the door. Call (916) 478-8123.
March 14: Sacramento Sirens Annual Crab and Pasta Feed at 4 p.m., La Sierra Community Center, 5325 Engle Road, Carmichael. Tickets $40. Call (916) 595-2750.
March 19: Natomas Charter School’s P4A 9th Annual Crab Feed
at 5:30 p.m., Hellenic Center, 614 Alhambra Blvd. Tickets $45 in advance, $55 at the door, with special rates for groups. Call (916) 928 5353, ext 102.
A bit of advice: Plan ahead. Tickets for most crab feeds must be purchased in the days before the event. Some groups don’t take credit cards. At least one group asks that you bring your own butter.
