The Crocker is always a jazzy place, but never more so from May through September. That’s when the venerable art museum hosts its Playlist concert series, featuring jazz the third Thursday of every month. “It’s a longstanding summer tradition,” according to Robin Koltenuk, director of marketing and communications.
At just $6 for Crocker members and $12 otherwise, it’s a sweet deal for fans of all styles of jazz. Just how diverse is it? Check out the lineup for this year’s remaining shows:
• July 21: Guitarist Iván Nájera (Spanish and Latin jazz)
• Aug. 18: Keyboardist Roger Smith (contemporary jazz) and special guests
• Sept. 15: Little Charlie Caravan (gypsy/swing jazz)
All performances are from 6 to 9 p.m. in the E. Kendell Davis Courtyard. But will you wilt in the heat? “It’s the shadiest spot we’ve got,” says Koltenuk. (Cold beverages will be on sale, too.)
