Sacramento’s vegans are coming back for round two with their second annual Community Vegan Fall Fest & Picnic. After the success of last year’s affair the Sacramento Vegetarian Society, Sacramento Vegan Challenge, and Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op are hoping for an even bigger and better event. The Camp Pollack site will be packed with entertainers, speakers, demos, information booths, local food vendors and picnickers bringing their own vegan food. The younger set can enjoy games, face painting, and arts and crafts.
And meat lovers, don’t be shy: Veganism ain’t just for hippies anymore. In fact, my group of omnivorous friends love nothing more than a good tempeh-bacon black bean burger from time to time. (It’s good.) Omnis and vegs alike are welcome to join in the festival, under the condition that no one sneaks in any animal products. For more information, click here.
