Clark Howard at Barnes & Noble Roseville

Looking for some good, solid financial advice? Advice from someone who will give it to you straight, but in a friendly way that will leave you feeling empowered and reassured rather than panicked and beaten down? Consider going to Barnes & Noble in Roseville tonight. Money expert Clark Howard will be on hand at 7 p.m. promoting his new book, Living Large in Lean Times.
In case you don’t know Howard—oh, let’s just call him Clark, that’s what he’d want—he’s a money expert along the same lines as Suze Orman and “Mad Money’s” Jim Cramer. Except he’s not as . . . how should I put it? . . . excitable. (Though regular viewers and listeners of his TV and radio programs know they will occasionally be treated to an alarm or some other sort of loud alert when Clark hears of a scam he wants you to take notice of.) Instead he takes his audience by the proverbial hand and gently guides them financially, helping them to “save more, spend less and avoid getting ripped off.” Perhaps the most endearing part about him is he’s a champion for the “little guy”—though he would never call anyone in his audience the little guy, at least not in a disparaging way.
You can listen to Clark weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Talk 650 KSTE and watch him on HLN weekends at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Barnes & Noble Roseville is located at 1256 Galleria Blvd., (916) 788-4320. The store is across from the Galleria and close to the Fountains at Roseville, in the same shopping center as Marshall’s, Nordstrom Rack and Old Navy—all stores with Clark-friendly prices, by the way. He’ll feel right at home.
