The 22nd annual Chalk It Up! promises to be as good as ever. More than 200 volunteer artists will be getting down and dirty, literally, as they scribble and scrawl with chalk on the sidewalk around Fremont Park in downtown Sacramento. The family-friendly event will feature live music from 30 bands throughout the days, plenty of food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and craft booths. Professional artists and community groups will be located throughout the park to offer hands-on art activities specifically for the kids. All the proceeds from the event go to funding children’s art education at schools and in the community in the Sacramento region. Chalk It Up! is quintessential Sacramento. Most of the artists are sponsored by local businesses, the food and music is all local, and the community spirit is high. Click here for more information.
