Celebrate the Aloha Spirit

This Saturday marks the inaugural Sacramento Aloha Festival, a day filled with the teaching and sharing of Hawaii’s culture via its food, history, hula, music, language and crafts. Held at Cal Expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festival aims to perpetuate the culture of Sacramento’s native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities, and will have a live entertainment, a hula contest and a cultural village. Admission is free, but a donation of nonperishable food items is requested, and parking is $10. Embrace the “Spirit of Aloha” through food and crafts from such purveyors as Hawaiian is BBQ, Island Designs and Polynesian Connection, to name a few.
