After months of planning, Capital Stage has moved into its new digs at 2215 J St., and this Friday the theater is throwing an opening gala to celebrate. Tickets cost $100 and include live entertainment, wine and hors d’oeuvres catered by Mulvaney’s Building & Loan. Proceeds benefit Capital Stage’s renovation of its new space. The company, headed by artistic director Stephanie Gularte, moved from its theater aboard the Delta King in Old Sacramento and promises the new theater, while slightly larger, will retain the intimate feel patrons have come to expect. See for yourself. Capital Stage’s opening show, Superior Donuts, runs through Nov. 13.
