I’m fascinated by history, especially when it’s presented in an interesting and unique way. This Saturday, Nov. 19, Sutter’s Fort presents history in a whole new light—by candlelight. The guided, 1 ½ hour tours will take visitors throughout the fort where they might overhear “conversations” had in 1846: tradesmen negotiating business deals, mothers reassuring their children, etc. Afterward, enjoy refreshments with your fellow tourgoers in the Fort Distillery. Tours start at 6:30 p.m. with the last one leaving at 9 p.m.—but arrive at least five minutes prior to your scheduled departure. Tickets are $15. The tours benefit the Friends of Sutter’s Fort, which supports the historic programming at the park. Click here for tickets and more information. Sutter’s Fort is located at 2701 L St., Sacramento.
