This month marks two pretty incredible anniversaries. Buddy Holly would have been 75 years old on Sept. 7, and Nirvana’s seminal album, Nevermind, came out 20 years ago this week. To celebrate both events, local promoter extraordinaire Jerry Perry presents two tribute shows guaranteed to bring back the golden years (whether those years were the ’50s or the ’90s). Each show will feature almost a dozen bands, each taking their shot at a handful of tunes. Don’t be surprised to see punk bands, ska bands, chamber ensembles and a little skiffle. Odds are that, whatever you see, you’ll probably never see it again.
