Holiday shopping is famous for being stress-inducing. Even if you made it through Black Friday without being trampled at a big box store, it’s still an uphill battle to get that just-right gift for all your loved ones. Fortunately, the people at Off the Chain, a local bike bus tour company, have figured out a very clever solution to holiday shopping woes. For the first time in Sacramento, you can hop on a 15-seat bike bus, grab a glass of champagne, and peddle around to downtown boutiques for a leisurely (and boozy) shopping trip. This is a near perfect solution. One, you’re getting your shopping done in a laid back environment with friends and potential-new-friends. Two, you’re getting your exercise in and enjoying the outdoors. Three, there’s champagne—enough said. The Boutiques and Bubbly bike bus tours kick off at either Capital Garage or Downtown & Vine (depending on which your you’ve signed up for) with a mimosa and a bite before heading off to visit three boutiques in Downtown and Old Sac. Depending on which tour you attend, you could be visiting any of the following: Andy’s Candy Apothecary, Mea Vita, Chef’s Olive Mix, the Crocker Art Museum, Stage Nine, or Taylor’s Art and Soul.
