Boo at the Zoo

You don’t hear too often these days about kids biting into poisoned gummies or nails hidden in chocolate bars, but even now, you can’t be too safe on Halloween. If you’re an extra cautious parent wanting an experience free of danger but still full of fun this Halloween, try out Boo at the Zoo, Sacramento Zoo’s trick or treat party on Oct. 30 and 31. Families are invited into the zoo as the sun begins to set, and kids can trick-or-treat for candy at 25 different stations set up around the flamingo pond. After collecting all the candy, visitors can enjoy a costumed dance party, a magic show, ghoulish games and more. For an additional fee, guests can also ride the Spooky Train or the Creepy Carousel. And of course, there are all the awesome animal exhibits to sneak a peek at (though only the front half of the zoo will be open for this event). Rain or shine, Boo at the Zoo will be delighting the area’s little animal lovers, who get to run amok in a safe space. For more information, see here.
