Bicycle Film Fest Hits Sacramento


For three days only—May 12, 13 and 14, the Bicycle Film Festival comes to Sacramento, celebrating bicycles through film, art and music. The festival originated 11 years ago in New York City, and this is the second time it’s come to Sacramento—one of 40 cities worldwide that host the event. 

The festival brings together fashion, music and art along with BMX, fixed-gear and road bicycling communities. The festivities on each night are free, as is valet bike parking provided by Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates. Here’s the schedule:

Thursday, May 12
5 to 7 p.m.: Opening Party presented by Sierra Nevada, Crocker Art Museum

7 to 9  p.m.: Bike Shorts (films)

Friday, May 13
6 to 9 p.m.: Savage Sprints, Hot Italian/Fremont Park

9 to 10:30 p.m.: Feature Films
After Party presented by Red Bull Music Academy at the Sol Collective

Saturday, May 14
4 to 7 p.m.: Trick Competition presented by PedalHard, Fremont Park

7 to 9 p.m.: Music In the Park
9 to 10 p.m.: Feature Films
After party presented by Hot Italian
