‘Avenue Q’

Did you ever get a chance to see Avenue Q, the provocative Tony Award-winning musical that was all the rage on Broadway a few years ago?

If not, you still have a couple of more weeks to see Runaway Stage Productions’ version at the theater company’s new location: Black Box Theatre located in West Sacramento’s Community Center at 1075 West Capitol Ave.

The show—accompanied by RSP’s Resident Orchestra—is recommended for theatergoers ages 13 and up because there are nudity and adult situations. The characters—based in New York City— are talking about life and love and more, and we know how heady those subjects can get. Of course, the characters are all puppets so . . .

Avenue Q runs through March 31. Show times are Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 with discounts for seniors ages 60 and older, students ages 12 and younger, SARTA members, children and groups. The show runs 2 hours with a 15-minute intermission.
