My Sister’s House is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. That’s 10 years assisting victims—especially those in Asian/Pacific Islander communities—of domestic violence to get out of abusive relationships and into healthier life circumstances. Like all nonprofits, My Sister’s House relies on the generous support of the public and on fundraising efforts. One such effort takes place this Saturday, Nov. 5: Run for a Safe Haven, with participants running or walking 3.1 miles around beautiful William Land Park. There’s even a ½-mile course for the kiddos. The event starts at 9 a.m. with registration taking place between 8 and 8:30 a.m. Entry fees are $15 (for the kid’s race) to $35. Afterward enjoy food, games, music and time with family, friends and others who came out to get a little exercise on a Saturday morning and support a good cause.
