Wine of the Week: Madroña 2010 Chardonnay



I stumbled across a beautifully balanced, elegant Chardonnay recently that was produced in the Sierra Foothills. Madroña’s silky-smooth 2010 Chardonnay offers restrained tropical and light citrusy aromas with a shy hint of oak; and showcases flavors of sunny-ripe pineapple, mango and Bartlett pear with a rounded, creamy-butterscotchy finish, a kiss of toasty oak and a nice, zesty backbone of acidity. Serve this delicious white alongside a roasted chicken dinner, a colorful stir-fry, or paired with your favorite cheese platter.
