Whole Foods Market to Offer Kids' Cake and Pie Cooking Class

You may be tired of baking (and eating) sweets this holiday season, but I bet your kids aren’t. If you want them to learn how to prepare baked goods (so you don’t have to next year) – send them to Whole Foods Market on Sunday, January 19th for a kid-sized cake and pie cooking lesson with the resident “Culinary Dude,” Scott Davis. Davis actually teaches two hands-on classes that day: the 4 to 11 year old class is from 10am to 12pm; and the 12 to 18 year old class is from 1pm to 3pm. Both are taught in the store’s attractive culinary center, and cost $35 per child. Students will be preparing sweet and savory cakes and pies “utilizing fruits, vegetables, meats of all kinds, and a ton of other stuff,” and Davis will also teach kids about kitchen and food safety, professional kitchen behavior, measuring and prep skills, and table etiquette. The goal? To help enable kids “find their inner chef.”
