Fans of wild game meat should reserve a seat for this Friday’s Huntsmen’s Dinner, benefiting the Discovery Museum Science and Space Center. Held at the Sacramento Horsemen’s Association Historic Saddle Oaks Clubhouse in Carmichael, this second annual event showcases a menu of regional wild game, prepared by chef Matt Woolston. The evening’s fare (donated in part by local hunters) will include wild duck, venison, elk, salmon and abalone. There will also be an optional, no-host flight of wines and (in celebration of Sacramento Beer Week) a separate no-host flight of beers, courtesy of Hoppy Brewing Company, to pair with this intriguing menu. The event also features a silent auction with prizes, including restaurant certificates, bottles of fine wine and tickets to regional entertainment venues. The dinner costs $125 per person and runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, call (916) 808-3942 or visit the Discovery Museum Science and Space Center’s website.
