Old Soul Co.'s 'The Sauce' Debuts This Month

I was delighted to discover a unique beer recently that was produced collaboratively by Old Soul Co. and Ruhstaller of Sacramento. “The Sauce,” a coffee-infused Porter, debuted this month as a limited release (only 230 cases were produced), and is offered in a custom 22-ounce bottle.

The porter, which features a sharp palate-burst of roasty, lovely coffee flavors, is also surprisingly crisp and light, and I think it would be marvelous with full-flavored foods such as smoked and grilled meats, barbecued ribs, burgers and strong, aromatic cheeses.

“The Sauce” is brewed with award-winning beans from the famed Los Lajones Estate in Panama, and Old Soul Co. is one of only two coffee roasting companies in California this year to obtain the farm’s Naturally Processed Lot #13, which is the base of this intriguing collaborative porter.

The product is currently available at Corti Brothers, Taylor’s Market, Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, Whole Foods and Nugget Market locations.
