I’m always delighted to receive new information about the Capay Valley Farm Shop, which showcases and sells delicious, locally grown and produced items and provides beautiful fresh-from-the-farm produce boxes for subscribers.
I was feeling a little sad recently to see summer stone fruits slip away for the year; but this week’s Farm Shop email reminded me that we have a whole new, exciting season of crops to look forward to. Currently, Capay Valley Farm Shop subscribers are getting goodies like persimmons, French fingerling potatoes, gold beets and Dino kale in their weekly boxes—all grown locally by small family producers such as Full Belly Farm, Riverdog Farm and Evergreen Farm. The Farm Shop also offers an exciting array of other goodies available for purchase, from preserves (like plum cinnamon basil jelly—yum) and fresh eggs to olive oil and grass-fed beef. As the holidays approach, I’ll be looking to the Farm Shop to stock my pantry with interesting products, and for some unique gift ideas for food-loving friends.
