Healthy Holiday Eats Showcased at the Co-op


For many of us, the holiday season gives us permission to over-indulge in foods that we normally eat in moderation (or stay away from completely) the rest of the year. However, if you and your guests are interested in celebrating the holidays with more wholesome fare, check out Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op’s upcoming class on Healthy Holiday Entertaining. Offered on Monday, December 12th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, the class will showcase the preparation of a health-conscious and “decadent tasting” menu.

The evening’s dishes include smoked salmon-filled cucumber cups, creamy truffle-scented parsnip soup, roasted pork loin with fennel and onions, and a cauliflower puree with roasted garlic. And just because it’s health-conscious doesn’t mean there’s no dessert – instructor Terese Esperas will demonstrate making red wine-spiced poached pears with a dark chocolate ganache.
