Local farmers markets are chock-full of treasures. Aside from the locally grown, seasonal produce for which they are so famous, many offer a plethora of other goodies, from olive oil and fresh fish to fruit preserves and cheese. One of the items I like to buy at the farmers market is eggs, and I found some beautiful ones recently. These multi-colored, very fresh eggs come from Pasture 42 in Guinda, a small-scale family farm dedicated to sustainable farming practices. The 32-acre farm produces pasture-raised, organically fed meat, milk, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and even soap in addition to its eggs, which come from a flock that includes 15 different varieties of chickens.
