On Saturday, Sept. 21, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Soil Born Farms will host local foodies and agriculture aficionados on its farm on Hurley Way, an “urban agricultural oasis nestled in the heart of the city.” The annual Autumn Equinox Celebration, designed to showcase food and beverages from the Sacramento region, will kick off the week-long festivities celebrating Sacramento as the Farm to Fork Capital of America. Guests have an opportunity to stroll around the farm while nibbling on a dizzying array of food from lauded restaurants and hand-crafted specialty food purveyors such as The Waterboy, Grange Restaurant & Bar, Biba Restaurant, Sierra Nevada Cheese Co. and Passmore Ranch. Libations will also flow during the evening, from producers including Rubicon Brewing Co., Ruhstaller, Berryessa Gap Vineyards and Capay Valley Vineyards. The evening features a raffle and live music from Mind X Quartet and Cousin Jimbo & Friends.
Tickets are $60 per person, and proceeds benefit Soil Born Farms’ Urban Agriculture & Education Project 501(c)(3). Purchase tickets in advance online, at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, or from Soil Born Farms (916) 363-9685. Note: Tickets will not be available at the door.
