On Saturday, Sept. 14, photographer Janine Mapurunga is debuting a fine art documentary photography project called “Sacramento Farmers and Chefs” at Sunh Fish on V Street. The event, which occurs from 6-8 p.m., showcases Mapurunga’s ongoing collection of portraits and interviews of people whose work is shaping the food culture of the Sacramento Valley. The exhibit will feature larger-than-life portraits of 30 farmers and 30 chefs from the collection, and marks the project’s first unveiling to the public. The event will also feature food by Kru, Bistro Michel, Ettore’s, de Vere’s Irish Pub, and 58 Degrees & Holding; wine from Sean Minor Wines and Picnic Wine Co., and beer by Ruhstaller. Tickets for this unique event, which aims to “highlight those individuals responsible for the bountiful food culture of the Sacramento Valley,” are available through eventbrite.com.
