After hearing some local chefs rave about Riverdog Farm’s pastured pork (chef Oliver Ridgeway of Grange Restaurant & Bar is a fan) I was delighted to discover that regular folks like you and me can purchase this tasty meat directly from the Yolo County farm. Riverdog’s pork share program (which serves Sacramento and Yolo counties, as well as the East Bay and Contra Costa, Napa and Solano counties) consists of a bulk case of chops, shoulder steaks, shoulder roast, ground pork, and sausages. The pork shares are $8 per pound and range between 15 and 20 pounds. The hogs are CCOF certified organically raised, and their meat is also available at Riverdog Farm’s stand at the Saturday Berkeley farmers’ market (in case you want to try it before ordering 20 pounds of it).
