You may want to put off that New Year’s dieting resolution: Dine Downtown Restaurant Week is quickly approaching. From Jan. 15–24, local chefs are creating special 3-course dinner menus to encourage consumers to visit Sacramento restaurants during a traditionally slow post-holiday period. This year, the establishments are tacking on an extra dollar to their meals (priced at $31, versus the usual $30), which will be donated directly to the California Food Literacy Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring change for a healthy sustainable tomorrow through community food education. Participating restaurants include Biba Restaurant, Chops Steak Seafood & Bar, Ella Dining Room & Bar and The Firehouse Restaurant.
