Love chili? Come out Friday night to support the Firefighters Burn Institute, which is hosting its “1st Alarm Chili Cook-Off” charity fundraiser at the California Automobile Museum. The event, which runs from 6-10 p.m., includes not only a chili-tasting (participants vote for their favorite) but also a beer and wine tasting, dessert, a silent auction and raffle, and foot-tapping live music by the Random Shuffle Band (which, incidentally, is composed of three local firefighters and a school teacher). All proceeds from the event benefit the Firefighters Burn Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing recovery and support services to both burn survivors and those who love and care for them. Tickets cost $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. For more information visit The Firefighters Burn Institute’s website or Facebook page.
