If your recent New Year’s resolutions included spending more time in the kitchen and getting back to your roots, the Sacramento County Master Preservers have lots of fun and educational events in 2015 to help you succeed. This dedicated service community outreach program conducts monthly public demonstrations that teach “the art and science of all phases of preserving food safely at home.” The group’s Feb. 18 event is called “Preserving for Special Diets: Low Sugar and Low Salt,” and will be offered from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the UC Cooperative Extension office, 4145 Branch Center Road in Sacramento. There is a $5 materials fee payable at the door, and no reservations are necessary.
For more information about the Feb. 18 demonstration, call (916) 875-6913 or visit the event website.
