Hankering for some fresh-baked goodies, I stopped into Grateful Bread Company this week and emerged with an armful of items. The snug bakery, located in Loehmann’s Plaza, never fails to lift my spirits with its enticing aromas and selection of beautifully-crafted products. I always buy the toothsome Grateful 9-Grain bread, a nubbly, darker sliced bread packed with barley, rye, brown rice, steel cut oats and millet – it makes fabulous toast; and my family likes the bakery’s simple white sandwich bread and delectable cinnamon-raisin bread. But we don’t stop at the bread – we often succumb to the bakery’s cookies (don’t miss the snickerdoodles), cinnamon rolls and muffins.
