Local Soil Born Farms is offering a unique symposium on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, called “A Garden in Every School.” Attendees, including “like-minded teachers, parents, garden designers, community leaders, school garden coordinators and others involved with helping kids make the connection between food, health and the environment” will have a chance to network and learn more about what it takes to encourage and support gardens in school settings. Workshop tracks on Saturday feature subjects such as the Nuts and Bolts of a School Garden Program; Nutrition and Cooking; and Lessons from the Natural World. The event will be held at The Met Sacramento High School (810 V St.); and $60 fee per person includes light breakfast, lunch and snacks on both days prepared by Magpie Café, Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op and Chipotle.
