Coffee aficionados, clear your schedule for the night of Thursday, Oct. 16—everything you’ve ever wanted to know about international coffee production will be revealed when the Crest Theatre premieres “A Film About Coffee.” This unique production examines how a great cup of coffee is born, and takes its audience on an intriguing trip around the world—from farms in Honduras and Rwanda to coffee shops in Tokyo, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and New York.

Through the eyes and experiences of farmers, roasters, buyers and baristas, the film offers a compelling overview of all the elements—the processes, preferences and preparations; traditions old and new—that come together to create the best coffee.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for an hour of tasting and talking coffee with a handful of the roasters featured in the film (including Ritual Coffee Roasters and Fourbarrel Coffee) as well as several local roasters, such as Insight Coffee Roasters and Old Soul Co. After the 7 p.m. showing, a brief Q&A will be featured with Eileen Hassi Rinaldi (founder of Ritual Coffee Roasters), Carter Gunn (editor of the film) and Lucky Rodrigues (co-founder of Insight Coffee). A private event for moviegoers will also be offered at Hot Italian after the event.

For more information, visit the film’s website.  Tickets can be purchased online or at any Insight Coffee location for $15.
